Soo probably a common question but where do you get pet essence
from as i'm clueless. Also test kits where to get/find as need some

Where to get pet essence = found at the end of post 1 in this essence guide!
Test kits = they're kinda rare, you can either buy them from the trade broker, but usually, people ask other users to test their pets in the Free Genetic Testing threads (you can find some threads in Groups, Guilds, Clubs and Services)
