Alright, I've been wanting to make a club like this for awhile, but I've been too nervous. So here it is!

A club for Autistic people, created by an Autistic person!

Are you Autistic? Do you think you might be Autistic? Then this is the club for you!

This is the place where you can talk about anything to do with Autism, and maybe make some friends, or find someone who shares your special interests.

What do you even do in a club like this?

Whatever you want! Talk about your special interests! Talk about how horrible sensory overload is! Talk about your favorite stims! Find people on Sylestia who share your special interests! Ask questions! Talk about scripts! If it has to do with being Autistic, whether it's something you enjoy or something that drives you crazy, you can talk about that here! Maybe one day we'll make an Autisticat Sylvestie, I'm open to suggestions about club activities.

How do you join?

You can either fill out the form below or, if that's something you do not enjoy(I personally, prefer to fill out predetermined questions, it's a bit easier to do) you can just use these scripts, or you can just ask to join in any way that makes you feel most comfortable. Form you can use if instead if you wish, all questions are optional, except name, I kinda need that one, at least so I know you're using the form to ask to join

What's the ping list for?

For now the regular ping list is just so the people on it can see all the things people post. I'm thinking of making a You can message me about any special interests you see we have in common, list, but I'm not sure.

Can people who aren't Autistic join?

I wish I could say yes and not have to worry about people being, well, mean. But unfortunately, I'm gonna have to say no. I apologize.

Can people who aren't sure if their Autistic join?

Yes you can, you might have just learned about Autism and realized it explains a lot about your life, but you're afraid you might be "faking in" or that you're "just looking for attention" or maybe you were sure you were Autistic until someone expressed doubt on that behalf, perhaps they said you were just too 'normal' in some way to be Autistic. Perhaps you're sure you're Autistic but are afraid to say for sure until you get some sort of official diagnoses. Maybe your doctor mentioned that you might be Autistic, and you think it might fit but aren't sure. You're welcome here.

Can self diagnosed people join?

Absolutely. You might not have the money or insurance for an official diagnoses. You might be waiting for an appointment. You might be afraid of what an official diagnoses would mean for you and your life going forward. No matter what the reason, you're not any less Autistic than someone with a diagnoses from someone with a psychology major.

No question is too silly or obvious, (I know I always assume that if a question isn't answered in the original post it's something I should already know that I just don't.) if something's confused you and you need clarification, or if you have a question about anything, please don't hesitate to ask. (I also know that saying that doesn't make it any less nerve wracking, but hopefully it helps a little.)

Current favorite stim: I love chewing on things, I have a lot of chewy pendants/necklaces that I use, and I also love those really soft blankets

Current special interest: My current Si are Wander over Yonder, Invader Zim, and JTHM (Honestly Zim probably usually leads to the second one eventually, having the same creator and all; if you can stomach violence. Lots and lots of violence.)

Random: My special interests change a lot, I actually have a list of things I like that I started before I knew I was Autistic. And while I was writing this someone knocked on the door and I nearly had a panic attack because I wasn't expecting anyone. I didn't answer the door and hid at the hallway corner watching the door. It was fun. (Sarcasm is my friend, especially deadpan sarcasm.) Still living with your parents has some merits, like not having to answer a door if you don't know who's there.

Autism: Diagnosed since I was I think 6 or 7 with what they used to call "Aspergers Syndrome."

Current favorite stim:CATS CATS CATSSSS I have 5 cats. They are all really soft and purr a lot. Sometimes they lay on me and purr while I pet them. Best thing ever.

Current special interest: I've always been very interested in reading. Even as a child, I'd finish a 200+ page book a week before the rest of the class. I also love writing, art, martial arts, and especially learning.

Random: I have diagnosed ASD, Social Anxiety, and Depression. Bipolar Disorder runs in my bloodline and I think I may have it, but I'm currently not old enough to be tested accurately.
Also, I strongly suspect that I may also have OCD, as it too runs in my family bloodline, and I show a lot of the symptoms. One of my most prominent "compulsions" is that I can NOT leave a number uneven. If a video or something is at 2:33, I simply cannot leave it until it turns to 2:35. If I miss the 2:35 mark, I'll wait until it turns to 2:40 and so on. This is not the only thing, but again, it's one of the most prominent that I catch myself doing often, and that I have little to no control over. Not to mention, I am also an introvert, so imma pretty messed up kid. Heh. =/

Autism: I have been diagnosed with high-functioning autism for about the last 15 years or so. They used to call my variety of autism Aspergers, but that term got phased out. I have several comorbid conditions.

Current favorite stim: Petting my dogs, touching my hair (I don't do that much, but sometimes)

Current special interest: My current special interests are School of Dragons and Sylestia, but I have a lot of them.
