this might be a silly question, but where do we buy Genetic Kits? i can't seem to find them in-stock in towns and i'm not sure where else to look.

Depends on what type of genetic kit you're looking for.
Exceptional Genetic Testers are available for sale in diamonds (premium currency) and has unlimited uses. You can find these in the Diamond shop (Shop>Diamond shop) for 1500 diamonds.
Standard Genetic Testers are not available for sale in Regional shops. I don't quite remember where you can find them, but you can always buy them in the Trade Broker (Trade>Trade broker). They are single-use only.
