This is a group for anyone who is or anyone who knows someone that is apart of the US military, regardless of what branch. This was inspired by someone who is really awesome, and has made my day on a few occasions, as well as my brother, who is apart of the national guard.
Here is a place to bond with others going through similar experiences, make new friends, and support those whose family or loved ones are deployed or are deployed themselves, or those considering entering.
To those who are active duty, thank you for your service ^^

Hi!
My stepfather was a Staff Sergeant in the Military. He had to quit though because he had been shot and bombed.... just a bit more than he could take. He was bombed/grenade...e? uh... close to 6 times I believe. All at a fair range.
He now has some mild PTSD and often gets intense migraines because. Also some hearing loss. He'd also been shot right in his shoulder once and that particular one needed tons of work to fix. I was pretty young at the time so I can only go off of what I remember and what I've been told.
One thing I do remember about 3-4 years back was when he and my mom were in their room, his eyes just rolled completely backward and he passed out. You could see the whites of his eyes and the veins and everything. When he finally woke up he didn't remember a single thing from 4-5 hours before. My mom brought him to the ER, but she never told us what actually had happened.
Anyway, may I please be added to the ping list? Thanks! = )

Welcome! And tell him thanks for his service!
I have PTSD myself, related to a different incident that isn't part of the military. I have found that keeping a familiar and comforting object around (for me it's a fox tail my boyfriend gave me), keeps me calm when i am having an episode. Perhaps it would help him? Idk. :p
And Kayla, it's kinda hard to do that considering i am already in pieces XD

I had a grandma who was an army nurse, a grandpa who did army intelligence and another grandpa who was an airplane electrician or combat engineer (I never got the chance to personally ask them about any of this, so all the information I have about their military lives and careers are from my mom and dad.). My brother is currently serving in the Marines and I plan on doing so as well after collage.

My dad was a sergeant in the Air Force while my uncle was in the Army. I'm not sure what other family I have who has been in the military, but I do know one of my ancestors fought in the Civil War. Don't know what side. But, yeah, my dad is an Air Force veteran. He had to quit because he started having health issues. He also did special ops.
