So! I have tons of crafts that I want to share with people, but they never seem to have time/interest. I figure that some of you might want to know how to make crazy and cool stuff though, so each week (that I can) Ill be posting a how-to for one of my ridiculous crafts. Ooh! I'm interested in the cardboard sword!

This is going to be hard since I do not have any pictures. But anyway.

HOW TO MAKE A WAND OUT OF HOT GLUE AND A STICK

Materials:
Hot glue and hot glue gun (smaller is better)
An outlet (really, really necessary)
A table (its not fun to do this one without a surface)
Something like newspaper or cardboard (as long as you plan on using the cardboard for something else later because cardboard waste is a heinous crime!) to put on the table
A stick about 11-14 inches long
A twig or your finger (if you dont mind fairly cool hot glue on it) or some other long pointy thing
Acrylic paint (optional)

Instructions:
1. Cover the table with the newspaper or cardboard.
2. Plug the hot glue gun into the NEARBY outlet. Unless you have an extension cord or something.
3. Wait for the hot glue to warm up (this is a great time to go find the stick if you havent already)
4. Pick up the stick in one hand and the hot glue gun in the other and glue a big glue lump to the top of the end that you want to be the handle. This is very tricky because your glue blob will want to fall apart.
5. Swirl glue down the stick from the blob into a handle shape. Whatever you do, dont touch the glue at this stage! It will ruin all your hard work.
6. Slowly spin the stick until the glue starts to harden.
7. Start poking and prodding the handle until it gets to the right shape.
8. Stand there poking and prodding and spinning very slowly until it has hardened enough for you to set it down.
9. Let it cool.
10. OPTIONAL: Get out those paints and paint it. Make sure that you are using the right colors. Once I accidentally painted one pink because it looked like it was in a brown tube!

Have fun and dont touch the tip of the hot glue gun!
(I think I am immune to it at this point, I have touched it so much)
