These are the rules for the Item Auctions Forum. These rules, along with our Terms of Service, apply to this forum. Please make sure you read and follow these rules at all times. At any time, these rules may change or more rules may be added. It is your responsibility to know these rules. If you are unsure if you can post something, then please feel free to Contact Us.
Please note, the rules listed below apply to all threads in this Forum. While some rules may not pertain to every type of auction, most do. As an example, if you have a thread where you're just taking offers on items, Rule #2 will not apply.
In most cases, don't over complicate the rules as they mostly are just common sense rules and some restrictions to protect buyers and sellers. We're all here to have fun; so let's keep it that way!
1. You may only auction and sell off items that belong to you.
2. All auctions must have the following format when created.
- The EXACT Starting Date and Time
- The EXACT Ending Date and Time
- All times must adhere to Sylestia's site time. Sylestia is in the Central Standard Timezone.
3. All auctions must end when your End Date/Time states. There is a maximum of 2 weeks that an auction can run. Please use Month/Date/Year format to avoid confusion.
4. As the Seller, you must deliver your auction goods in a timely manner. You have a maximum of 72 hours from the time that you receive payment from the Winner to deliver the auction goods to them. If you cancel or do not follow through with the auction, it will be considered scamming and you will face consequences. The Winner of the auction is the highest bid or first buy-it-now in the thread by the stated End Date/Time.
5. As the Winner, you must deliver your payment in full in a timely manner. You have a maximum of 72 hours from the stated End Date/Time to deliver your payment to the Seller. If you cancel or do not follow through with your payment, it will be considered scamming and you will face consequences.
6. Please include the starting bid, minimum bid increase, and BIN (buy it now) prices in your auction. Having a BIN price is optional, but starting bids and a minimum bid increase are required.
7. All bids must be done publicly in your auction thread. There is absolutely no allowance of private bids through the PM or instant messaging system.
8. You may not ask your friends or use other accounts to drive up your auction bids. This is considered cheating and anyone found doing this will receive a permanent ban.
9. You may not edit your original post at any point. If found doing this it will be considered scamming. Please contact an administrator if you need something edited or have any questions.
10. Please only bump posts when your thread has fallen off the first page.
11. Please do not comment or critique other players or their auctions in their threads. This includes telling players that their auctions are created incorrectly, their auctions are overpriced, etc. If you see an auction that did not follow the rules, contact an Admin! Posting in their auction thread informing them of a rule violation is not the proper action to take.

We have made some updates to the rules. Rule #4 was split into Rule #4 and Rule #5. Additionally, added two paragraphs at the top regarding the interpretation of the rules.
