Welcome to the Fall Festival of 2013! It has officially begun. We will keep this thread update with the latest news and updates regarding the Fall Festival, so you can keep checking back to see what's new.

Due to the massive amount of content we have planned for the Fall Festival, not everything is available right at the start. We will do our best to get everything released as fast as possible.

New Species: Ryori

We have released the 18th species of Sylestia, the Ryori. The Ryori is a Fabled species only found in the Esior's Fields Fall Festival zone during the Fall Festival.





27 New Mutations and 17 New Genes Added

We have added a whopping 27 new mutations and 17 new genes into the game! Every species received at least 1 new traits, with the majority receiving multiple new mutations and/or genes. New Exploration Zone: Esior's Fields Fall Festival



The Esior's Fields Fall Festival zone is now available! Click the link above to zone in. Please note, the zone is intended for players who have completed the original Esior's Fields zone (AKA, the Tutorial). If you have yet to do so, you will find this zone extremely difficult!

If you are being redirected to a different zone when you attempt to enter, this means one of two things. If it is the old explore system, it means that you are in a battle. Finish your battle and try again. If it is the new explore system, then you must "Exit the Zone" first before entering a new one.

Finding Ryori
The Esior's Fields Fall Festival zone is the only place where you will be able to find Ryories in the wild. They are currently available, so happy hunting!

Holiday Pets
There are currently 15 unique Holiday Pets in the zone; 1 for each species able to be found in the zone. More will be added throughout the festival.

An additional 15 Holiday Pets are now available on Halloween Day only! Be sure not to miss the chance to catch these exclusive pets!

Traveling Merchant
Be sure to stop by Epheni Blinkwind's shop just south of the entrance! She is always adding new items to her wares. She also sells Revival Draughts and Pet Traps.

Named
There are currently 6 unique Named in the zone. If you are new to Named, there are a few things to know. Firstly, there are two types of Named. Ones with Place Holders and ones without. The Named with Place Holders usually have a respawn timer of 15 minutes - meaning, when defeated, it will respawn in roughly 15 minutes. However, there is a chance for the Place Holder to spawn instead, which must be defeated to trigger a respawn for another chance at the Named. Named without Place Holders are guaranteed to spawn each time, but usually have a respawn timer of roughly an hour.

Named are much stronger than regular enemies, so take precautions. When defeated, they always drop at least a Rare piece of Equipment or better. They also have a chance of dropping certain Avatar Items from the festival. Below are hints regarding where to find the available Named in the Fall Festival Zone.

The villagers of Esior's Haven have reported the following:

Timothy Strawfield: "I swear that Scarecrow was watching me!"
Dorothy Redhood: "Be careful of the beasts that lurk in the woods."
Conrad Bellower: "There was this awful wailing coming from the abandoned outpost off of the coast."
Derek Diggler: "That cabin is haunted, I say! Stay away!"

Currency



The currency for the Fall Festival is Chocolate Coins. Chocolate Coins can be earned from Trick or Treating, defeating Named, opening Mysterious Pumpkins, or Nurturing.


Fall Festival Baskets



The Fall Festival Basket is now available in the Diamond Shop. The Fall Festival Basket contains BOTH 1 Epic or Legendary Avatar Item from the Fall Festival (including the Astral, Celestial, and Heavenly Nebula Set items) AND an Enhanced Ryori Essence, Lesser Genetic Mutator x2, or Lesser Pet Dye x3.

Additionally, Golden Egglings opened during the festival may contain Fall Festival items.

As we've done with every holiday event, Faiona will be running a bunch of various Forum Games throughout the festival. Some will be passive games that you can participate in at any point during the festival. Others will be during certain time frames. Others will be at set times. More will be added throughout the festival.

Be sure to regularly check this thread so that you can participate in every Forum Game!


Trick or Treating

Trick or Treating is new feature available to all players. It's structured to sort of be like a mini-game that you can play with everyone on the Site every 6 hours. Trick or Treating will be available until the end of the festival.

Basically, one user is the "Visitor" and the other is the "Host". The Visitor initiates the game by either Tricking or Treating the Host. The Host is then notified that the Visitor has Tricked or Treated them and they can respond in two ways. The Host can either guess that the Visitor is Tricking them and choose Trick, or they can guess that the Visitor is Treating them and choose Treat. The results are then a sort of "rock-paper-scissors" match:


If Visitor Tricks and Host guesses Tricks, the Visitor is foiled.
Host awarded 4 points; Visitor 0.

If Visitor Tricks and Host Treats, the Visitor steals.
Host awarded 0 points; Visitor 4.

If Visitor Treats and Host guesses Tricks, the Host is a bad Host.
Host awarded 0 points; Visitor 2.

If Visitor Treats and Host Treats, both are satisfied.
Host awarded 2 points; Visitor 2.

If Host Gifts and Visitor Tricks, the Visitor is a bad Visitor.
Host awarded 20 points; Visitor 0.

If Host Gifts and Visitor Treats, both are satisfied.
Host awarded 20 points, Visitor 0.

For every user, points will be tallied throughout the Festival. Those with the most points will win very prestigious prizes (to be announced soon). We will also be creating a Leaderboard page where users can track the leaders and their rank. This page will also have an enhanced Search feature so players can more easily find other players to Trick or Treat with - although the Trick or Treat page does offer a way to navigate through other active player's pages.

Hosts have the option of giving a gift to visiting Trick or Treaters. This action requires a [Handful of Candy]. These can be found inside Mysterious Pumpkins, dropped by Named, or sold by Epheni Blinkwind. Additionally, users can purchase [Handful of Candy] directly from the Diamond Shop.

If a Host decides to "Give Gift", they are guaranteed to receive 20 Hallowed Points. Additionally, the Visitor will receive a random reward. The rewards include: Fall Festival Avatar Item, Lesser Genetic Mutator, Lesser Pet Dye, Lesser Philter, Chocolate Coin.

This zone is also still under construction. Only the bare essentials are available. We will be adding lots more to do over the course of the next few days and throughout the festival.

Holiday Pets
At the moment, only the Aurleon and Bulbori are available. More will be added tonight and throughout the festival. We created a new system for Holiday pets allowing us to add new variations in real time, so I promise that we will add dozens more and that every species will have multiple variations when we're finished.

Named
There are currently no 'real' named available.

Currency
You cannot earn festival currency yet.

Every species able to be seen in the festival zone now has one Holiday variation. More will be added throughout the festival.
