There's this ap thing across from my coins and under the gems and I'm just curious to know what it is or what it does.

it stands for advancement points. You can use them to buy things in your wardrobe, not all things, mostly normal hair, clothes, shoes...You gain them by nurturing pets and battling. At least, thats how I gain them.
