(This contains no spoilers to the new movie.)

No more Riderless Dragons

Berk, a place of peace and harmony between humans and dragons alike. The only place in the world that has dragons, or so we thought. Rumor has it that there is another clan of Vikings that have dragons of their own as well but they keep themselves hidden away from the rest of the world. A band of the best dragon riders (aside from Cheif Hiccup and his friends of course) have been chosen to embark on this journey and speak with the other clan. This is their story.

My Characters~

Name:
Sylis Tumblestone
Age:
25 years old
Gender:
male
Personality:
For the most part he is a very helpful person that tries to make friends with everyone that he meets. It takes a lot for him not to trust you (unless you are a dragon hater), and once that trust is broken it takes a lot to win it back. Sylir will go out of his way to help anyone in need and isn't afraid to break the rules for a good cause. To the public he seems rather childish and immature as that is was he conveys, though in reality he is simply masking the fact that he is rather insecure and that he deals with a lot of problems due to his past.
Dragon:
Chief
Clan:
Berk
Other:
He wasn't born in Berk but instead was brought back by a fishing party. None speak of that day.

Name:
Delta
Gender:
female
Personality:
Despite his size Delta is a calm and gentle being. Much like her owner she is rather playful and scatter brained at times. She has a tendency to act more like a bird that a dragon. Delta seems to forget that she is a rather large dragon as she still wants to sleep in Sylis' lap. In the face of danger she is protective and almost aggressive towards those that are not her master. .
Crimson Goregutter
Clan:
Berk
Other:
Hatchling to Adult
In appearance, the Deadly Nadder is very beautiful and bird-like: it is bipedal, possesses winged forelimbs, and is about the same size as medium-sized theropod dinosaurs such as Allosaurus. Its small yet keen eyes, equipped with poor binocular vision, are one of the tools it uses to stalk its targets.

Its body is vividly colored, with a light beige underbelly, while its wings are mottled, darker shades. In front of its eyes is its curved nasal horn, which is often used to batter opponents; its lower jaw is shorter and wider than its upper, giving it an overbite (this sets it apart from all the other dragons in the film, since with the exception of the Night Fury they all have underbites).

Ringing its skull is a crown of spikes. Coating the tail is a series of spines that can inject venom into a target. When relaxed, its head spikes and venomous tail spines lay flat, and when alarmed, they shoot upward to intimidate its foe. The tail spikes can also be used to make a rattling noise which it makes right before it attacks, similar to a rattlesnake's.

Abilities
They are one of the most beautiful of the dragons, but also one of the deadliest. According to Astrid, they are very intelligent. In Dragons: Race to the Edge, Season 5, Stormfly demonstrated a special type of fire that looks like a welding torch.

Firepower
Before Fireworms were added to the franchise, Nadders had the hottest fire of all dragon species and still have one of the hottest. It's been said that the Nadder's fire is hot enough to melt metal and turn Vikings into ash. Stormfly also has been seen melting solid rocks within seconds and is able to use a type of fire similar to a Razorwhip.

Spine Shot and Single Spine shot
The Deadly Nadder also has, at its disposal, a tail that is covered in bristling poisonous spikes, which are used as projectiles to stun or immobilize its prey. Its tail spikes are its preferred weapon (probably due to the aforementioned blind spot). It can launch its tail spikes with devastating speed and accuracy.
This has been shown by Snotlout Jorgenson when he exchanged dragons with Astrid. Snotlout placed a hand on Stormfly's front neck, just behind the crown of spikes. The reaction caused her to fire a single spine shot that had so great accuracy to even slice another spine through the middle. This could be the result of hidden secret ability for Nadders as Stormfly seem to be surprised herself to have this ability as it one of the secrets that Valka had mentioned in How to Train Your Dragon 2. Their spines are so sharp they are made into spears by the Dragon Hunters. As seen in "Dragon Flower", when under the effect of the Blue Oleander flower, a Deadly Nadder will even shoot its tail spines when it sneezes.

See more information: Gallery: Deadly Nadder (Franchise) in summary Renders and in Gallery: Stormfly (Franchise) / Dragons: Riders of Berk. Gallery: Stormfly (Franchise).

Venom
A Deadly Nadder's spikes have never been confirmed how venomous they are, and what the exact effects are. In "The Night and the Fury", Dagur says he got hit in the leg by one, but his leg appears to be just fine. The Dragon Eye also indicates that their sharp teeth are venomous as well.

Speed and Agility
Deadly Nadders are fast of both on land and in the air. Astrid's dragon, Stormfly, rivaled Toothless in speed. Astrid discovered that, when put on a diet of chicken, the Nadder's speed increases greatly. They are also quite agile and well-balanced, as Stormfly demonstrated in Trick Contests, and in the first movie in the Arena. They are shown by Flystorm to run slightly faster than other dragons on land such as the Scauldron, Changewing, and the Whispering Death.

Prehensile Tail
Stormfly had proven for their kind to be able to use their tail to grip on Vikings as it strong enough to hold the weight of Dragon Hunter.

Senses
In terms of behavior, the Deadly Nadder is very fast and dangerous, though its potency as a hunter is hindered by the blind spot directly above its nose (possibly due to its large horn). As a result, the dragon relies on its keen sense of smell and hearing, often instead of its binocular vision, in order to find its prey. Their great sense of smell was the reason they were reclassified as Tracker Class dragons. Baby Nadders can smell a human from one-hundred feet away, although it is currently unknown if the distance increases as they mature. Stormfly has been shown to be able to smell a wild Triple Stryke before anyone else had even seen the dragon in question.

Strength and Combat
Nadders have shown to have great strength can hold Vikings' weight on their back with no sign of struggle. Flystorm was strong enough to carry Gobber the Belch and Mildew at the same time to keep up the speed with other dragons. Also, they can carry heavy loads such as a heavy metal, even dragon-proof cages with dragons like the Snow Wraith inside as Stormfly did with the extra weight of Astrid. Also, Deadly Nadder like Stormfly can carry the weight of 5,000lbs of Monstrous Nightmare of Hookfang with the extra weight of Astrid. Nadders are proven to be great combat dragon as seen with Deadly Nadder like Stormfly able to fight against Monstrous Nightmares like Hookfang.

Endurance and Stamina
Their endurance and stamina are high. These dragons can run and fly for long distances. In the first film, a Nadder was able to be to take on an attack from Stoick the Vast when he threw a heavy object at its body. It was still able to fly well afterward.

Weaknesses
Blind Spot
This dragon happens to have a blind spot right in front of their nose as it does not possess a binocular vision. By staying in its blind-spot, most trainers, or hunters, can carefully evade this dragon's gaze.

Vulnerable Areas
Also, as discovered by the Dragon Hunters, when Nadders shoot their spines, their belly is always exposed, making it an easy target for Dragon Hunters, or other hostile dragons. Ryker Grimborn used this against Nadders to shoot them down. In addition, Nadders have a special spot under their chin, which when scratched, is extremely comfortable. Like a stereotypical comic-relief reaction of dogs being scratched, Nadder's eyeballs roll up, they gape their mouths open in comfort and their spikes preen downwards. When stroked correctly, some Nadders may collapse momentarily.

Nadders also have a pressure point on the neck, which disables the dragon.

Food Motivation
Trained Nadders are easily bribed with chicken. When these weaknesses are used, this dragon could potentially fall under the influence of other, be it good or bad.

Behavior and Personality
The Deadly Nadder is one of the most beautiful dragons, and unfortunately, it knows it. It is well-known for its vanity; it constantly grooms itself to stay clean and maintain the luster of its scales.

Like the Night Fury, the Deadly Nadder is a picky eater whose diet comprises mostly of poultry and is allergic to domesticated hoofed animals. Nadders also eat a significant amount of fish and even graze on plants. However, when it is trained, it becomes very affectionate. These dragons also love to play fetch.
Abilities
Firepower
Crimson Goregutters are able to launch molten lava from their mouths, similar to other Boulder Class dragons such as Gronckles and Hotburples. They are also able to spew their lava onto their antlers before charging onto their intended targets.
Ear-splitting Call
Crimson Goregutters are able to produce an ear-splitting sound to communicate within a distance.
Strength and Combat
Due to their huge size, Crimson Goregutters possess an immense level of strength. A single Goregutter can easily knock down the door of a metal cage with its feet, swat humans with its tail, smash a tower of rocks, and destroy boulders by ramming it with its antlers while flying without any signs of slowing down.

Dragon-
Name:
Gender:
Personality:
Species: Mimikoo
Other: it's in the Tracker Class Averaging 20ft (6m) tail to muzzle 5.5 ft (1.75m) at withers. Titans have been reported at 30ft length 8ft at the withers The Malicious Mimikoo is a crafty beast. Armed with an excellent sense of smell it tracks its quarry. When the victim is spotted, the Mimikoo will land and conceal itself, mimicking the call of the targeted creature. Once within range the dragon leaps with incredibly powerful hind legs. Its retractable fangs are equipped with poison, so long as it gets one bite in the game is over. Mimicking:

The Mimikoo is named for the uncanny way it mimics other creatures including Vikings. It can imitate any sound almost flawlessly, some say they could not tell the beast from their own mothers voice. Many an unfortunate Viking have been lost to this creatures eerie calls.

This unique ability is due to the hollow chamber in the comb above its skull that connects to the throat and nostrils. It throws Vikings off because the Mimikoo can mimic without opening its mouth

Fire:

Has no fire. Now it is fireproof, mind you, just as much as the next dragon, but no fire. Instead it eats sand and makes glass from it, similar to the Groncles ability but strictly a glass maker. This can be blasted, but the blast is weak and it can only carry three shots at best. No the mimikoo has a much more creative purpose for its glass fire. Ill get to that in a minute

Flight and ground Movement:

Not a strong flyer, best described as fluttering. The wings do all the work, the tale is best used as a rudder or for gliding. It takes to the sky with a powerful, jumpstart leap. Very difficult to ride in the air but even worse on the ground since all the Mimikoo does is hop!

Courtship:

The male Mimikoo builds a nest of stained glass to impress a female. This is an incredible feat; as there are many factors involved. First he must find a cave with more than one exit, and not too far from a sandy beach. When hes done this he begins building, flying back and forth from the nearby beach, scooping up sand and laying down glass. He will often add things that catch his eye, and even eat certain plants to give color to his glass. Once the glass is laid, he sculpts with his comb. Its razor sharp edge is perfect for making exact cuts.

The glass wall must be three feet thick, give or take a few inches. It has to hold even if a Monstrous Nightmare flies into it. Ventilation is a major factor. Having no fire means Mimikoos are more sensitive to the cold weather so the greenhouse effect that glass has is very useful in the winter, but if the cave is not properly ventilated for the summer they could d.ie from heatstroke.

When he is done, he goes outside and begins to dance. He fans his tale and wings, displaying his colors from the ground, singing loudly. A female takes notice and lands to watch. He hops over and dances circles around her, cooing, buxing, and trilling. Then he backs away and bows, inviting her to dance. She will snap at him if she is not impressed. But she will imitate his dance if she accepts.

This goes on for a few days.

When he is ready, he brings the female over to the waiting nest. She inspects for strength and ventilation. Usually if he has done well with these she accepts, but there have been female Mimikoos how have turned away suitors because they lacked artistic style! So the beauty of the nest is in question as well.

If she accepts, they begin their own pride. Other females searching for shelter are welcome to join the new pride, and their mates, if well mannered, are accepted as well

Defense:

(The blast from a Mimikoos glass fire is enough to end a Viking, but a mere irritation to other dragons. It does not rely heavily on it.)

Plain is not always bad. The male Mimikoo is bright and beautiful, but his lifespan is much shorter than a females due in great part to her camoflauge. Predatory dragons are just not going to spot her as well as they do him. If a Mimikoo is in hiding, and something it perceives as a threat draws near, it will mimic a larger creature to frighten the would-be assailant.

Not being a fast dragon in the air, their best defense is to seek shelter, not flee. If they can make it, the thick glass walls they build at the entrances of their nests lend refuge and bewilder other dragons. They dont see them and run right into them. This makes the hunter the hunted, because once in a daze on the ground the Mimikoo will attack any Dragon or Viking with its poisonous fangs.

One would think their razor sharp combs would be a good defense but this dragon prefers to kick. If they damage their combs theres no going back, and they need them for building and fixing up the nests. Also the combs are so sharp they often get stuck in armor, leaving the Mimikoo open to attack

Challanging:

Male Mimikoos fight over females and territory. Theres always an alpha and always a challenger. Alphas are called MimiKings

They battle two ways; vocally and physically. preliminary fights consist of yelling. Whoever yells the loudest is the victor. These can be very entertaining as they can literally yell anything. So if a Viking were to shout something like My voice is higher than YOUR voice! To battling C.ocks they would compete by repeating it louder and louder until it was static.

The next step up is physical combat in the form of

-boxing.

Yes boxing. They stand up on their tales and punch and scratch and kick. Mimikoos have the most powerful, pound-for-pound hind legs of any dragon and they are not afraid to use them on each other. Jaw strength is not their strongsuit, and since Mimikoos are immune to their own poisons theres little point in biting, especially since they risk getting their razor sharp combs caught in the armor of the other dragon.

Hunting:

Females do the hunting. They mostly hunt alone, but if theres big enough game they work together. Flying above the islands she follows her nose to herds of deer or yaks or anything with ears basically. Once the quarry is spotted, she lands a distance away and sneaks closer.

Finding a place to hide or camoflauge within hearing range, she begin to call. Bleating like the quarrys young, or bugling a challenging rival, depending on what the victim will respond to. When the gullible beast gets within 50 ft range she strikes, power of her hind legs launching her at 80mph. She bites once with her fangs. The animal flees in terror but she does not pursue with haste. Her work has been done, the poison in her fangs moves swiftly and painlessly, and the infected animal d.ies within minutes.

Poison:

Unlike most creatures the Mimikoo does not make its own poison. They create it by ingesting Hemlock, Henbane and Poppies. Overtime these produce the poisons in its fangs. They are the only creature immune to hemlock.

Vikings discovered after much trial and error that if Mimikoo poison was taken in a far smaller dosage it would put one to sleep. It was a very, very hazardous anesthetic, though, and honestly a terrible idea.
