if you've been gone for a few years, yes, the stat systems were overhauled and are much easier now.
Stats themselves are the same (except now there are pets with bonus stats caught in the Lost Grove and their descendants)
Level up points no longer exist and you don't get a prof point per 5 levels that can be put into getting a static boost on a stat or making an attack more powerful
you get 1 Prof point at lv0, 30, 60, 65, and 70 (and 75 once that becomes available)
Each stat can now have up to 3 prof points assigned to it, and Str/Int is now consolidated so the pet gets assigned Str if it's a physical element and Int if it's a magical element, rather than potentially having someone assign Int profs on a phys pet or something.
Proficiency boost now scales with the pet's level rather than being static due to these alterations
So, a lv0 pet without any prof gets no boosts, if you assign its one point to Str/Int or Dex or Agi, it gets +20
At lv50, 1 point in a stat gives +147, 2 points gives +221
At lv60, 1 point in a stat gives +191, 2 points gives +287, and 3 gives +430
At lv70, 1 = 299, 2=449, 3=673
Attacks can now be ranked up via battling in the Lost Grove to get attack rank exp. (it takes,,, a lot of grinding)(pets retain the rank+exp they gain for a specific element even if that pet has its element swapped.
So if you ranked a Fire pet's base attack to Rank 2, then swapped it to Light element, the light element would have no exp, but if you swapped the pet back to fire element the fire attack would still be rank2)
Also, all the attacks got overhauls.
Equipment also got overhauled so Str relics always give Phys boost and Int relics always give Magic boost
Additionally new equipment of the four base types (Illusionist/evoker/myrmidon/assassin) were altered so one stat gets a very high boost, one gets a high boost, and the other two are average, and new equipment types were made available in the Lost Grove for lv60+ pets.
