In general, crediting someone for a design that they have created but they have allowed you to use means that wherever you post the design for interest or for sale, you make a note that the original design was created by the original designer and that you have been given permission to use the design in the way that you are using it.
Examples:
1. I was given permission to use Lddarcwolf's nephini colour palette. On my projects in progress thread I have this:
So... I can't take credit for this at all XD LDDarcWolf (the creator of the Raspberry Lemonade Lighiras) decided to try the colours of her ligh theme on the nephinis and came up with this gorgeous colour scheme. She came up with a project idea and... I loved the colours but wanted to try some other traits. I asked her permission to do this version of her project. You can see her original interest thread here. Please check it out!
2. I was given permission to breed a design that was created by Annaheartz. In my projects completed thread I have this:
This lovely sylvorpa project was actually created by Annaheartz! She gave me permission to generate and breed this project since I completely fell in love with it, and she wasn't sure that she would be able to get to it in quite a while.
As I don't have a dedicated sales thread at the moment, I don't have examples for that. However, if I did have a sales thread, I would probably just copy the above into said thread.
Others credit by making a quick byline of "Design / colour pallete created by __________. Used with permission." Or something like that.
In the end, crediting is to make sure that the original designer is acknowledged, and show that you gained permission to use the design,
