I see so many of them and so many are pretty, so how does one get one?

Also what makes a Sylvesti themed? Does there have to be so many traits?

A themed pet is an exclusive pet of any species with any number of traits that can only be obtained from the seasonal festivals, or very rarely the Lost Grove exploration zone, or through breeding two pets of the same theme together.

A themed pet has a set color scheme, even though their traits may vary. Here are some examples of Ametrine Explosion themed Nixies, one of my personal favorite themes:

Some themes are much rarer than others, such as the Blossoming Rose Aeridinis, of which there are only 96 in the game, as opposed to the Solar Eclipse Lunemara, of which there are 639 currently.

Because of this, people will pay lots of money to own certain themes they like, simply for being able to say that they have a tagged themed pet, even though it is possible to get a pet that looks exactly like it, but that isn't themed, like the Emperor's Dragon Zolnixies, a theme that has been made into non-themed pets.

I hope this made sense or helped clear some stuff out. If not, try pinging a player named Scatheroite, who knows far more about the game than I do, and can explain stuff way better.

The above post is correct. ^.^

One small thing to add - the Winter Festival should be starting within the next week or so. There will be a special fest zone where some themes can be found just by walking around, with a bit of luck.

Thank you so much for the information. I can hope that I am strong enough to try for a theme pet. ^_^ As I said they are so pretty. I love those Nixies. Those are the only ones I have so far (the breed obviously not the theme.)

I actually got a Newt's Eye Nixi theme from the last fall festival. I can set him up for you for free, if you'd like? You said you liked Nixies and he can be your very first theme!

We wish you the best of luck finding themes in the winter fest!
If you want to find themes now, you can click over to the Advanced Search which is a little clickable link on most Sylestia pages in the left sidebar, or a button that says Search in some other pages at the top of the page.
There are 1st generation themed available now for just 110 gold, but purebreds are generally cheaper and can have more genes, as 1st generation tagged generally are trait-restrained by encounters or game mechanics.
Some people dye themes to make them their own versions. Here is a purebred (but dyed) Emperor's Dragon Zolnixi, as mentioned above, for sale for 200g. The little blue star and the words "Emperor Dragon Zolnixi" above its genes show that it is a purebred. (1st gen themed have gold stars and purple words.) The image is clickable.

If you would like to revert it to the original Emperor Dragon Zolnixi colors:

You simply have to apply a Pet Dye to it. That will cause a button that says "Update Theme Colors" and *This Themed Pet is eligible to have its colors updated to the new variation* in green to appear under it's image, like seen on this pet. If you press that button, it turns back to the original colors. However, this cannot be reversed.
If you have other questions about themed, breeding, and recolor projects, there are several guides in the Player Guides forum that could help!

I currently have 50 Tagged 1st generation and purebred Nixis. I would be happy to breed you another Purebred for free.
I have about 230ish Nixis total so I can get you one in almost any color you want.

I actually specialize in Venes (the dragon like ones)
Like said above some of us pay lots to have specific pets (I have paid 6,000 Diamonds for a Vene at one point, most recently 600,000ish gold for another)

Really? That would be so nice of you.

I was hunting a female Themed, and it seems that they are much more costly.

I love Paler shades. ^_^

I spent the last of my money finding Light a pure blood mate.

Yep go to Advanced search.
Switch to search pets.
Enter my name into owner slot.
Select Zolnixi for species.
Switch themed to yes
Switch include purebred to yes
Then hit search.

It will bring up all my purebred and themed pets. You can see the theme names by each pets info. You can pick two matching themes and I can breed them for you and give you the egg.
