Here's why:
Storytime (THIS STORY IS REAL I PROMISE :3)
I was on Sylestia, and I looked at the top of my screen and panicked. I only had 2k gold and 5 stable tabs (3 in one stable, 2 in the other) and they were ALL FULL (I over-breed) I looked at my "Expired" Fest tokens and ended up with 300k gold. Wow. I had stale choco coins and melted frost tokens collecting dust in my inventory. I am glad they were worth something

Yeah. I wish non expired fest tokens were worth something... I really don't use them oof

as long as the festival is open you can alwais sale them in the broaker if you dont nead them, you should be able to get quite a bit of gold that way too.
