I was just wondering, if I have leftover Composted Seeds from last spring fest, will they still work for this year's spring fest?

From what krin had said, no, evrything from past festivals will should be removed at the next festival of their type.

Any items left over from past fests are turned into retired tokens at the start of the next year's fest. Retired tokens can be sold to the site for 400 gold and have no other purpose.

What Sakina said will hold true only for this year I believe. After that it just vanishes forever.

That is correct. In all fests now and in the future, fest items obtained will be lost at the end of each fest.
