Is there a trick to making them go faster ? I don't really understand other than to check regularly and make sure that the condition is good. How long does it take ( my last one took over a week and I feel like I must have done something wrong )

other than using an expedient agent, it's just down to keeping a close eye on them (they can be attended to again about 35 minutes after the last agent was used on them, and ticking down a quality level about an hour after that, if I'm remembering right) (also, majestics take longer than regular and fabled)
In their progress bar you can see the total hours an entirely unattended one takes- 288 hours (12 days) (maj = 432 hours (18 days).
Depending on the Quality, the amount they gain towards completion changes though.
Quality: Normal is +1
Good = +2
Great = +3
Perfect = +4
meaning that if you can maintain perfect for most of the time on a reg/fabled they should be able to complete in ~4-ish days (not exact, but as a general overview this is accurate enough)

Okay that - kind of makes sense! Sorry to follow up with more questions but how do you increase quality past Good? That's the highest I have ever seen mine ._. And the expedient agent - what does that do exactly for the time? From what I read on it I thought it just meant you won't have to use other agents.

To clarify, there's Quality and Condition, which are different (condition is either one of 'frosted', 'melting', or 'cracked', or 'Good' and is kind of the 'immediate' status of the sculpture, Quality is the overall current status, which determines overall progress of the sculpture and its bonus, and which is affected by the Condition.)
All sculptures start at 'normal'- if you use an agent on it, it progresses to 'good'. when the Condition deteriorates in 35 minutes, you have from then until an hour after that to use the next to raise it to 'great' before it drops down one stage
(eg, if you use an agent at 1:00pm, raising the quality from 'normal' to 'good', the condition will stop being 'good' at ~1:35pm, at which point you can use the agent it wants to return it to 'good' and boost the Condition to 'great'. You have until 2:35 to do this. If you do not, the quality would drop one stage (in this hypothetical one's case, down to 'normal'))
A brew drops one Quality stage per hour that is isn't tended, so a timeline of progress could theoretically look like this:
Brew Quality start = Normal
1pm > agent used > Quality = Good
1:35pm > agent used > Quality = Great
2:10pm > agent used > Quality = Perfect
2:45pm > agent used > Quality = Perfect
3:15pm > agent not used > Quality = Perfect
4:15pm > agent not used > Quality = Great
5:15pm > agent not used > Quality = Good
6:15pm > agent not used > Quality = Normal
6:20pm > agent used > Quality = Good
6:45pm > agent not used > Quality = Good
7:20pm > agent used > Quality = Great
And no, that's not quite what an Expedient agent is- what an expedient does is remove the 'cooldown' (the 35 minute wait) between agent uses, so you can just get the whole thing done in one go if you want, without having to wait for the time to pass (you do still need agents to put in, or you can get other people to do it- it's basically free frost token farming for other players, since you get a few for tending other players' sculpts)
(not sure if we've explained as well as we could? But we've tried and if it doesn't help we can try to clarify further)

Ah - thank you for explaining. This one is definitely something I wish I had asked a lot sooner but I am glad to somewhat understand it now for next year ( or I guess the end of this one lmao ) I think I have a better grasp of it now ^^!

For springfest, in fact- with Winterfest now using this setup, and Krin's intent to also update summerfest's version, all four seasonal festivals will finally have the same functionality for how the exclusive pet making works in terms of Condition/Quality/Bonus maintenance.
(the items used are different, maybe, but the core mechanics are the same)
(Winter has previously used a completely different mechanic, and summer's previously hasn't had the time-based progression, and only progressed when player's attended to them)
