I'm not entirely new exactly,t they also us I just don't ask around so now I'm going too. I ask my friends but they usually don't know either. Ping me if you have answers.
1. What is the point of purple traits?
2. What do they exactly do?
3. What does it mean if a pet can regenerate traits and colors?
4. What do the levels of hatchlings mean?
5. Does it have something to do with the parent's level?
6. Where is the Lost Grove?

Purple traits are hidden traits. You only see one of them, but the other "hidden" one can still be passed to offspring. I can explain further if needed.
It means that you can click the regeneration button on the pet (if you own it, obviously), and be taken to something like the generator to be able to choose to certain traits and/or colors.

Parents have a chance to pass on exp to their hatchlings, which is where the levels come from, but only up to a certain extent (forgot the exact level).
The Lost Grove is the third (and most recent) zone of the third region of Sylestia.

Thank you for all this wonderful information, I don't own one of the pets that can regenerate stuff but my friend wanted to know before she did it.

you could probably found some in the advenced search, look for pets with no traits and a price above 20000g. The speacies that have a regen that affect both the traits and colorations are :
