Okay, so you know Fungus Grove? There's this guy here: Cereth. I haven't ever been able to get past him and his other two friends. How can I do this?

looking at your stables, it seems you only have one pet on your party- so your first step should be to go to Esior's Haven, go to the Sylesti Plaza, and buy the second party slot, if you haven't done that yet.

Second, looking at the pet you have on your party currently, Eden:
- she's an air pet, so she shouldn't be on a team alone anyway; air and fire pets do not have any healing capability beyond the Mend ability (and elixirs that you have on hand), as they are designed to be out-and-out attacker elements.
Air and Fire pets are typically put in slot 2 or 3. Team setup generally has the setup tank/healer/attacker (when one has three party slots, at any rate- party slot 3 is not available until you get access to Sanctuary of Saerielle, though)
So you'll want your slot 1 pet to be water, earth, shadow, or light (water/earth/shadow being the typical tank elements, with light more usually being a dedicated healer in slot 2 or 3, but is sometimes a tank)

- her equipment is almost 100% wrong. Air pets need Strength and Dexterity- Myrmidon equipment. Especially the relic needs to be replaced, as it's a Magical Damage relic. Relics give a large buff to the Damage stats (which control the pet's damage output), and pets use a damage stat determined by their element (light, fire, and shadow use the Magical Damage stat, water, earth, and air use Physical Damage stat)
Equipment plays a large role in pet stats, so you'll want to pay attention to it- the level and rarity of equips both affect how good an equip is.


(slot 1 pet, you'll want to have equipped with Agility gear- Illusionist (int/agi) if it's a shadow or light pet, Assassin (str/agi) for a water or earth pet)

I highly recommend listening to what Scath said. They always give good advice! As you are still new I would like to gift you this pet. He doesn't have any traits and can not have babies but he will be a good fighter for you! I suggest you use them as your tank (earth/shadow/water). He will help you fight untill you can invest in a better pet.

You just have to buy him for one gold and he will move to your stable where you can equipt him with items and you can assign his element.
I even trained him a bit so he is the same level as you
