I looked down 15 pages (To the time before I first joined even!) of Q&A hoping to see if someone else has asked this, but so far, nope...
All about restricted traits?
I was Exploring Astryls Vale and I captured a Bulb I though had a restricted lucky trait (I was wrong) and it got me wondering how does a pet get restricted traits? Does the pet have to be themed to have restricted traits? Can restricted traits be passed on to Nonthemed offspring? Can you come upon a pet in the wild that has a restricted trait? If so, is this an all year round possibility or only during fests and other special times/places?

I'm not too sure on the first part, but yes, restricted traits can pass along to non-themed offspring. I don't think restricted trait themed pets spawn in the wild, you can only get them from special events.
