I know where it is, I just don't know how to get it. I've been grinding for ten minutes straight and haven't gotten the egg. Suggestions?

don't remember specifics but if its a third region thing, you gotta walk around to find it, not battle

The spoiler guide is correct on that one. Sometimes RNG is just dumb and it takes ages to give it to you.

yeah
if its in a third region zone (astryl's, sweet bloosom, lost grove) you gott awalk around for it it'll appear on the map

I believe the bend, creak, and moan... clue is for Faerina's Shrine. If you've been battling it for ten minutes, I would think you'd have gotten it by now. It's taken me 2-3 minutes, maybe 4 tops, to get the egg in zones where you just have to grind it.
Check your battle log after every encounter. Yellow text will pop up telling you you've found it and saying to return to your quest log to claim the prize. Go to fest page and then the clue list, and see if the clue you're on has turned yellow yet, meaning it's completed.
