1: You breed higher stats by choosing a pet and then breeding it with another with higher stats over and over until you decide to stop. You can also use philters for an extra boost.

2: You can get pets with high stats by buying from max-stat breeders.

3: People sell their pets infertile that way people can't breed with them to sell your project.

Stats can only be increased by breeding; there is no way to boost the stats of an existing pet (except in a narrow window where you can use philters when hatching an egg to increase its stats, and nurturing hatchlings slightly increases their stats). Inferting is used to protect all the hard work put into a project. Any breeding project can take a lot of work; max and super stats in particular require a huge investment of time and often money as well. If you sell project pets fertile, the potential is there for someone to buy a male and female, breed them, and sell offspring for cheaper than you are. Basically, profiting without any of the work. Now, a lot of people are respectful enough not to do that, but unfortunately not everyone is. Inferting project pets guarantees that no one can profit off your hard work.
