I need some advice on my team. Specifically, I was wondering how viable the element combination I have is for the most difficult bosses in the game at this stage. Currently I have shadow/light/air with vinethorn gear that's mostly +2.

The bosses I've been unable to beat are all of the Forgotten Caverns named and the pseudo-krin boss this fest. I've seen that a lot of people use earth tanks and it's made me wonder if shadow isn't going to cut it for soaking damage.

I saw that this old thread had no replies.

I really like shadow as a tank. Especially with high agility, shadow avoids attacks instead of soaking damage. Both Earth & Shadow make great tanks. They just take different approaches to fill the same role!

So basically, you should be fine with a shadow tank. ^^

Edit:
Some of the Cave bosses require a *very large* amount of damage to succeed with. They are hard, even for me (and I have mostly stoneweave gear). I have been most successful with "non-standard" teams with two attackers. (i.e. water/air/air for example). However, they are also very tricky to manage, since healing is low.

The biggest help for me has actually been ranking up. 3 star, and especially 4 star attacks make a world of difference! Once ranked up, "standard" teams become very nice in the caves again!

Example of a water tank.
Note the +40% magical and physical mitigation.
